Riding An Electric Unicycle In San Francisco: A Local Perspective

So you’ve probably seen a lot of footage on Youtube showing what is possible on an electric unicycle from InMotion and Solowheel, but what is it like to truly integrate an electric rideable like the Glide 3 into your daily routine?

We spoke with Greg, who has been living in San Francisco for the past 5 years. Greg entered the electric unicycle community during the summer of 2014, and rides his Glide 3 every single day.

“The wheel has become such an essential aspect of my commute, getting around the city and embracing the different aspects of life.”

Starting with the Classic, Greg has since upgraded to the Glide 3, calling it a “great successor with a lot of improved features, such as headlights, customizable sidelights, and a handle, which is absolutely essential.”

Perhaps one of the most compelling reasons to consider riding a Solowheel Glide 3 in San Francisco is its ability to climb incredibly steep hills without any fuss. This is why so many riders like Greg consider their electric unicycle to be much more of a vehicle than a toy.

You can pick up a Glide 3 of your own right here.
